Last Sunday saw the floor of the art class transformed into a wild flamenco dance floor.
Students have enjoyed having works of art hung in the entrance of the workshop. Some of the more advanced students have been sketching the walls of the room, now that the space is uncluttered. The exercise sharpens the observation skills, and helps understand the notion of edge as well as spatial relationship of objects relative to each other. An essential step towards more “accurate” drawing, this exercise makes use of eyeball perspective (i.e. no measuring, only feeling).
I hope you like the new layout of this blog. I am trying to make it easier to navigate and find what you might be looking for, whether is be the next class schedule, the next workshop, or pictures by children: please step into the brand new Children’s Gallery. Comments are welcome to help improve this blog.
